While at School in the 50's and early 60's, my favourite subjects were Science and Maths. On the Science front, Chemistry was more exciting than Physics so whenI left School in 1962, I opted for a job in Chemistry and there I remained for my first 12 working years, however in those latter years when I was in charge of a Quality Control Department, I came into contact with that maligned breed of workers who go under the guise of Salesmen which is where I made a Career change and where it has continued. While working in a Quality Control Laboratory, I met my Wife Susan while travelling on the Train to Bradford Technical College and we married July 20th 1968, on that day a year later, man landed on the Moon. Now as an Area Manager for a Gearbox manufacturing company based in Italy, I am looking towards Retirement (or at least Semi-Retirement) which will allow me more time to relax, see more of my Grand Children, keep Websites up to date and look after a couple of companies who's Computer Networks I manage. As for now, I enjoy holidays in the Sun, listening to Live Country Music, a little bit of Line Dancing and tinkering about with anything mechanical. I do a bit of Computer repair work and Software Recovery from failed Computers and keep generally busy. I used to love Driving but the roads now are so congested and driving standards have become so bad, there is little pleasure heading down the Motorway nowadays, however for those who clock up many miles in a year, I would strongly reccomend you get in contact with your local branch of " The Institute of Advanced Motorists" which I did back in '92 and this gave me an extra awareness to road conditions and has possibly saved me from mishaps on the busy roads.
